IEEE 1584: Engineering Safety: Calculating Arc Flash Hazards

July 15 @ 10:30 pm - 11:35 pm CDT

This session focuses on the methods and models defined by IEEE 1584 to accurately assess arc flash risks in electrical power systems.
Participants will learn how to perform arc flash energy calculations, determine incident energy levels, establish protective boundaries, and design appropriate mitigation strategies to enhance workplace safety.
The workshop emphasizes how mastering IEEE 1584 empowers engineers to prevent catastrophic incidents, ensure regulatory compliance, protect personnel, and design safer electrical systems.
PDH certificates will be provided.
Offered by the IEEE Oklahoma City Section as part of the Standard Electrical and Electronic Engineering (SEEE) Workshop Series.
